Things To Do
A truly unique experience
There is something for everyone in Coles Bay and the east coast of Tasmania whether you are looking for extreme adventure, gourmet food and award-winning local wines, white sandy beaches, fishing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, snorkelling or cruising.
See Wineglass Bay by boat, from the air or experience the sand between your toes and walk there via the Wineglass Bay Lookout.
Visit Vineyards
Within a 30-minute drive you’ll be able to taste some of the best that Tasmania has to offer. You can taste award-winning wines at the many vineyards in the area whilst drinking in the stunning views.
Picturesque Bays
Within the Freycinet National Park you’ll find Honeymoon Bay and Sleepy Bay – two of the most picturesque bays Tasmania has to offer. If you are lucky you’ll have the beach all to yourself.
Walk, Walk, Walk
Take the one hour walk to the Wineglass Bay lookout and take in the world-renowned view of the pristine waters of Wineglass Bay.
If you are keen to walk further, do the Hazards Loop. The Wineglass Bay and Hazards Beach Circuit will allow you to fully appreciate their beauty. The walk takes about five hours and there are some steep sections.
For those who are in peak condition, climb Mt. Amos. This four-hour climb along a rustic track will reward you with an incredible view of Wineglass Bay.
Kayak, SUP or Quad Bike
See hidden parts of the coastline from the serenity of a kayak. Stingrays, dolphins and various sea birds are likely companions during your paddle.
A quad bike adventure will give you the chance to travel off the beaten track. The trails provide enough challenge to give you some thrills whilst remaining perfectly safe.
Have a sunrise Stand-Up Paddleboard adventure and marvel at the wonders of the extreme beauty of the Hazards.
Local Seafood
Freycinet has unsurpassed seafood offerings and the best place to enjoy them is at Freycinet Marine Farm. This laid-back café can satisfy your appetite with mouth-watering menu items such as oysters, scallops, prawns and salmon.
Scenic Flight
Rather than walking, appreciate the beauty of Freycinet from the air. Incomparable views, outstanding photo opportunities and a knowledgeable pilot make this a jaw-dropping adventure.
